Tyrell Malacia Exceeds Personal Goal and Dominates the Season
Tyrell Malacia established a personal goal for himself before the season began, and he has completely surpassed it.
Tyrell Malacia set a personal goal for himself before the season began, and it’s safe to say he’s blown it out of the water.
Malacia was the Red Devils’ first signing under Erik ten Hag, moving from Feyenoord for an initial fee of £12.9 million.
The 23-year-old has had a solid debut season. Malacia will and has been a great addition to the squad for the price United paid. On the weekend, he stood out against Aston Villa.
With little to no risk involved in the transaction, Malacia was under no duress. During his first season at Old Trafford, he appears to have thrived on it.
Tyrell Malacia completely destroys personal target
According to the Manchester Evening News, the young Dutch full-back set a goal of 20 appearances in his first season with United. His 36th start came against Aston Villa.
The young man must be very proud of himself. He was anticipated to be a periphery player when he joined the team, but he has regularly stood up when called upon.
He has now surpassed his goal by a staggering 16 games, and he still has seven games to play!
Some may attribute this to appearances off the bench, but in fact, he started 23 of these games, making his achievements even more astounding.
As previously stated, his 1-0 victory at Aston Villa was one of his best performances in a red shirt. Following the victory, he told the MEN:
“I think from now until the last game of the season it’s important points so we have to win every game now,” Malacia says.
“It’s not good that we dropped points [at Tottenham] but today [against Aston Villa] we played good and important points.
“Yeah, [the atmosphere in the dressing room] was good, but we have to focus now on Brighton. We have to move on.”
Malacia has enjoyed a strong start to the season. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for him.
