Thomas Tuchel Eyes Real Madrid Job with Spanish Lessons, while Pochettino and Ancelotti Linked to Spurs and Brazil
Thomas Tuchel has indicated that he is not interested in the Tottenham job and has already started preparing for his next role. The former Chelsea manager, who has been unemployed since last summer, has been studying Spanish in the last six months with the aim of potentially joining Real Madrid.
In an effort to increase his chances of securing the Real Madrid job, Thomas Tuchel has been studying Spanish over the past few months. Reports suggest that Tuchel was being considered as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte at Tottenham, but the German coach has indicated that he is not interested in the job.
Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea in September 2021 and has been out of work since then. He was approached by Aston Villa following Steven Gerrard’s sacking in October but turned down the opportunity, with Unai Emery eventually appointed. Bayer Leverkusen also made an approach for Tuchel, but they appointed Xabi Alonso instead. Despite this, Tuchel remains a highly sought-after coach in European football.
According to a report in Bild, Thomas Tuchel has been learning Spanish in the past six months, which suggests that he is eyeing the Real Madrid job. The current Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has been linked with the Brazil national team post, which has been vacant since Tite’s exit after the World Cup. If Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid, Tuchel could be a potential candidate for the job. However, Mauricio Pochettino, who has also been linked with a return to Spurs, could also be considered for the Real Madrid job.
Pochettino previously managed Tottenham for five and a half years, leading them to the Champions League final in 2019 before being dismissed six months later. He then spent a season and a half at Paris Saint-Germain before being sacked at the end of last season.
