The Red Devils’ Revival: Man United’s Three Revived Stars Join Intense Training Ahead of Real Betis Showdown
As the second leg of their Europa League last-16 match against Real Betis approaches, Manchester United’s training squad has been updated with the return of three players.
Ahead of their Europa League second leg against Real Betis, Marcel Sabitzer has returned to Manchester United training after being absent from the last two matches due to an undisclosed setback. Along with Sabitzer, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof also joined the team for training on Wednesday morning, but Antony was not seen participating. Unfortunately, Alejandro Garnacho was absent from training after suffering ankle ligament damage during Sunday’s match against Southampton.
As a result, the 18-year-old will not be available for United’s upcoming matches against Real Betis and Fulham in the Europa League and FA Cup, respectively, and will also miss out on joining the Argentina squad for the international break later this month.
Due to his red card in the previous game, Casemiro is set to miss the next four domestic matches, making it likely that he will start the upcoming match. However, he will also face a suspension in European competitions if he receives a yellow card during the match against Betis, adding to the pressure of his situation.
After the quarter-final stage, yellow cards received by players are reset, meaning that every player will have a clean slate for the semi-finals and beyond. However, if a player, including Casemiro, receives their third booking in the second leg of a potential quarter-final match, they will miss the first leg of the semi-final.
United training squad vs Real Betis:
De Gea, Butland, Heaton, Bishop; Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Martinez, Shaw, Varane, Wan-Bissaka; Casemiro, McTominay, Fred, Sabitzer, Fernandes, Mainoo, Iqbal; Elanga, Pellistri, Sancho, Rashford, Weghorst, Martial.
