Rio Ferdinand Criticizes Manchester United Player for Lack of Respect
Rio Ferdinand has been praising Alejandro Garnacho and his bold attitude at Manchester United.
Alejandro Garnacho, 18, scored off the bench in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Wolves on his return from injury.
Garnacho exuded the aura of a superstar as the Old Trafford crowd chanted his name. This was his season-high fifth goal.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand told FIVE that he admires Garnacho’s confidence and lack of concern for others.

Rio Ferdinand speaks highly of Alejandro Garnacho.
Rio Ferdinand admires Garnacho’s attitude and considers his easygoing attitude to be an advantage to his game.
He said: “He’s a player that has come in, and shows no respect, at all for people. He don’t look at no reputations.
“I don’t even think he looks at the [opposition] team sheet, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes into the game and when he’s out there says ‘whose your right back today’, he just don’t respect them. ‘I am this good I am doing my thing and you are going to have to stop me, work me out, come on’.
Ferdinand did add, though, that Garnacho would have a different type of challenge next season, when the element of surprise will be gone and defenders will have a game plan to stop him.
However, as MUTV expert Alex Bruce stated after the Wolves game, defenders will be concerned about Garnacho’s pace, especially when he comes off the bench.
Garnacho’s challenge is to establish himself as a regular starter on the club. Former Manchester United star Paul McGrath has challenged him to take the next step in his career next season.
For the time being, it’s all about living in the now. Garnacho has signed a long-term contract extension with United until 2028. Hopefully, he can maintain his courageous approach, which will be encouraged if he plays a role in the FA Cup final victory in early June.
