Moises Caicedo speaks out about the tackle that hurt Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
Moises Caicedo of Brighton has expressed regret for his attack on Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli.
Brighton player Moises Caicedo has apologized for fouling Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli on Sunday after his challenge wounded the Brazilian international.
Martinelli was forced off in the first half of the Seagulls’ 3-0 defeat after becoming the victim of a reckless challenge from Caicedo in the early moments. Now, the Seagulls star has apologized on social media, stating that he regrets the tackle. He added on Twitter, “If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t have made that bad tackle. (Shrug emoji).”As fans feared the worst, the 21-year-old was seen wearing a protective boot after the final whistle.
This is why people were saying that Martinelli got karma yesterday.

He smacked Mitoma (wasn’t even booked) with his arm. And then Caicedo fouled him on revenge and got injured.
Gary O’Driscoll (Head of Medical Services) said he will be back this season. pic.twitter.com/RXtk20kCA0
But, according to club doctor O’Driscoll, Martinelli’s injury is unlikely to keep him out of his team’s final two games of the season. When asked how the player was doing by a fan, O’Driscoll replied, “Sore.” A terrible, horrible foul.
“But yeah, he’s a bit sore but he should be okay.” He added: “Yeah, I think he should be back before the end of the season.”
Caicedo could have been one of his teammates this season, but a deal fell through. Brighton turned down many proposals for the midfielder, and he has stated a desire to leave the Amex Stadium.
He finally signed a new deal with the Seagulls and is still an important part of their pursuit for a European spot under Roberto De Zerbi. With two games remaining, Brighton is sixth in the Premier League, seven points behind Liverpool.
In other news, the Gunners will want to get back on track in the final weeks of the season. Arsenal’s final two games are against Nottingham Forest and Wolves, and they will be looking to keep the Premier League title race alive for as long as possible.
