Manchester United monitors Gambian winger with impressive 9 goals and 9 assists
Manchester United is reportedly interested in Gambia winger Alieu Fadera.
Manchester United scouts are busy watching players around Europe and reporting back to the club as transfer season approaches.
Zulte Waregem winger Alieu Fadera is allegedly on the club’s radar.
Manchester United, according to Belgian publication Voetbal Krant, has sent scouts to witness the youngster in action.
Manchester United is interested in Alieu Fadera.
Alieu Fadera has been a member of Zulte Waregem of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League since 2021. He formerly played in Slovakia’s second division.
Fadera, 21, is from The Gambia and won his first senior international cap in March, when he made his debut against Mali.
He has had a strong season for his team, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists.
Seven of these goals and seven assists came in the league, which is even more astounding given that Zulte Waregem was just demoted and scored only 19 goals.
Fadera is under contract until 2025 and would be inexpensive. His market worth is listed as two million Euros on Transfermarkt.
His club’s demotion to Belgium’s second level increases the likelihood that he will be sold. Club Brugge is exploring a relocation, according to the Belgian publication Nieuwsblad.
An interesting fact about Fadera is that he played for Pohronie in Slovakia alongside former Manchester United prodigy James Weir, who made his Red Devils debut alongside Louis van Gaal.
With five goals each, the two finished as the leading scorers in 2020/21. Weir has been a free agent since leaving MTK Budapest in Hungary last year.
