Man Utd Set to Make Bid for Mason Mount, Chelsea Given Quadruple Lifeline for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Chelsea will receive Manchester United’s opening offer for Mason Mount this week, as the summer transfer window starts.
The transfer window begins on Wednesday, and Chelsea expects to reduce and refine new head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Mount is one player who has piqued the interest of many. Man United, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all interested in the 24-year-old, although United are said to have agreed personal terms with him.
Chelsea have yet to agree on a new contract with Mount, who is out of contract next summer and might leave the club for the Blues to cash in on the England international.
Chelsea and Mount have yet to resume talks, but Manchester United is set to speed up their pursuit this week.
According to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, despite the clubs’ disparities in values, United will make their initial bid in the coming days.
According to sources, Chelsea value Mount at more than £70 million, while Erik ten Hag’s side believes he is worth between £50-55 million.
Mount was asked about his future by Sky Sports during the last Spanish Grand Prix, but he quickly shifted the focus back to the Formula 1 race.
Mount’s teammates, Ben Chilwell and Reece James, have openly stated their desire for him to stay. Pochettino also wants the midfielder in his plans for next season.
While Mount’s future is unknown, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of many players who appear to be on their way out.
According to Sky Sports, the 33-year-old is garnering interest from Saudi Arabia this summer, with four clubs interested in handing him and Chelsea a lifeline to part ways after just one season.
After agreeing a two-year deal to join Al-Ittihad on a free transfer when his contract at Chelsea expires at the end of June, Aubameyang might join N’Golo Kante.
