Joao Felix Emerges as Premier League Target after Chelsea’s Rejection
According to reports, Atletico Madrid has offered Joao Felix to another Premier League club after his loan at Chelsea expired.
Newcastle United are the latest club to be granted the opportunity to recruit the 23-year-old this summer, according to The Sun.
Felix did not return to Stamford Bridge when his loan term with the club ended at the end of the season, according to reports earlier this week.
It has been stated that Mauricio Pochettino made the choice not to renew his contract with the club, whether on a permanent or loan basis.
The Portugal international had a contentious loan period in West London, where he appeared to be one of the world’s most talented players at times.
Atletico Madrid has offered Felix to Newcastle United.
However, his inability to consistently provide goals and assists may have worried some that they were signing a player with a profile that the club already had plenty of.
However, Atletico are apparently eager to get rid of the pricey player and have reportedly looked elsewhere in their search for a new home for him.
They are said to have approached Newcastle in an attempt to identify a team willing to invest large money on Felix.
Eddie Howe’s squad had a fantastic season this season, finishing third in the table and qualifying for the Champions League.
If they want to compete in Europe as well as England, they will need to increase their depth, and Felix has undoubtedly played at the highest level in this campaign.
However, given Newcastle’s track record of signings, it seems unlikely that they will break their transfer record to bring in the former Chelsea star.
