Frank Lampard Gives 14-Year-Old Chelsea Talent a Chance with First-Team Training Call-Up
Charlie Holland, a Chelsea kid, has been observed getting a fantastic opportunity to train with the first squad today.
According to a video uploaded by Football Daily, Frank Lampard has called up the 14-year-old to train with the squad preparation for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest.
Feels like a bit of context also helps here; young academy players occasionally step in for senior training; usually 21s or 18s but 21s are done and 18s are in Germany. U14-U16 players are on site daily through schooling and, when appropriate, can get the invitation to train up. https://t.co/rVIxdOhhId

According to Chelsea Youth on Twitter, Holland has served as captain of the U14s team this season, which recently won the Albert Phelan Cup.
They defeated Fulham 5-0, demonstrating that there is much to be enthused about at Stamford Bridge in the future.
Lampard has not shied away from using young players in training since joining the club on a temporary basis until the end of the season.
Despite having yet to make his Chelsea debut, goalkeeper Eddie Beach was involved yesterday. It also seemed unlikely that he will make it anytime soon.
After a handful of Blues were called up to represent England in the U20 World Cup in Argentina later this month, there may be a deeper dive into the younger squads.
Carney Chukwuemeka is expected to play a key role for the Young Lions, who will be joined in the team by Harvey Vale, Teddy Sherman-Lowe, and Bashir Humphreys, all of whom played in the FA Cup against Manchester City earlier this season.
The call-up means that the former Aston Villa player has played his final minutes of the season for his new club, making the previous 12 months a bit of a waste in terms of his development.
For Holland, the opportunity to play with players such as Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix can only be viewed positively in terms of his personal growth.
