Erling Haaland has sent a message to Everton fans.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has shown gratitude to Everton fans for sending him a boot to honor his recent achievement.
The Norwegian striker just set a Premier League record by scoring his 36th goal of the season against Everton.
The fans congratulated him with a boot and scribbled, “E Haaland record Premier League goals., from Everton fans.”
Haaland responded on Instagram, “Thank you.”
A little strange
Everton is fighting for relegation, and his goal against them did not help their cause in terms of other results.
One can understand why Toffees fans would be pleased if this goal prevented Liverpool from winning the Premier League or something like.
No such occurrence comes to mind, and the Everton faithful doing something like this is certainly unusual.
Hopefully, they can rally behind the squad and guarantee that they complete the task in the remaining games of the season.
It’s commendable that Haaland thanked them, but the fans clearly do not want a thank you and would rather to have their Premier League position secured instead.
Sean Dyche’s recent statements will no doubt have enraged fans, and he’ll need to learn how to read the room and achieve the results he needs to keep his side afloat.
Grealish has loved playing alongside Haaland and adores how he is just as happy in setting up a teammate as he getting on the score sheet himself. “I can’t speak highly enough of him,” he said. “One thing that has impressed me so much about him is that he is obviously desperate to score, but he is not grumpy if he doesn’t score.
“He also loves getting assists. It speaks for itself really how good he is, not just as a goal scorer but as an all-round player. I can’t speak highly enough of him, he is a brilliant guy.” Haaland’s ridiculous goal rate means he’s a shoo-in to claim City’s Player of the Year award but Grealish isn’t too far behind. The winger has become one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s team sheet and admits he’s enjoying his football at the moment.
“As an attacking player that is what you want to do, you want to get goals and assists,” he continued. “I still feel like I could get more, but that is obviously something that you want as an attacking player, to be contributing to the team. “I feel like since the World Cup especially, I have been playing so much better. It has been nice to get into a rhythm because I have been playing all of the time, playing in these big games. I am really enjoying it at the moment. “I feel fit, I feel confident, so hopefully I can keep that up until the end of the season and chip in with a few more goals and assists to try and win us some trophies.”
