Arsenal’s Mudryk alternative confirms contact made over the January move
Facundo Torres, an Arsenal target, has confirmed the Gunners have made a contract over a transfer while awaiting further talks.
Torres has been of interest at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the current transfer window, as Standard Sport reported in November, after being spotted by legendary South American talent scout Toni Lima.
Torres, who scored against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly last summer, has been linked with a move to the Premier League after the Gunners were outbid by Chelsea for top target Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The 22-year-old Orlando City midfielder claims Arsenal made an approach before the World Cup and expects to hear from them again shortly.
Transfer Updates
“Orlando City confirmed to me that communication had been made with Arsenal, but I then left.” for the World Cup and I didn’t want to hear about a potential transfer at that point,” he told 90min.com.
“So the conversation stayed there but now that I am back with the team, we will see where the conversation goes.
He added: “I would love to play in Europe. It’s a dream I’ve had since I was a kid. At the moment I am focused on Orlando City.
“But La Liga or Premier League would be my targets, and that’s where the rumors are coming from … I would love that.”
