Arsenal completes January transfer – ‘Brilliant striker’ expected to sign – Arsenal wants £300,000 per week man
Arsenal have announced that Ovie Ejeheri has joined Finnish club SJK Seinajoki on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper has recently returned from a loan spell with Chelmsford City, where he appeared in 23 games across all competitions for the National League South club.
He is regarded highly by the Arsenal academy, but he is not yet ready to make an impact on the Gunners’ first-team under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal announced on their website: ‘We wish Ovie all the best for his loan spell in Finland at SJK Seinajoki and look forward to seeing his continued development.
Arsenal has one of the top academies in the world and several excellent talents, including Ovie.
This move will allow him to get experience in another league while also giving him the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities to be a future Arsenal star.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the youngster, and he must make the most of it
Mikel Arteta has been instructed to bring in a fantastic striker for Arsenal during the January transfer window.
There is no doubt that the current Arsenal side is playing excellent football – thrilling football – and that is why they are at the top of the table.
But Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to sign some players this transfer window and add some much needed depth to the squad – and although he has missed out on a number of targets – there are still options.
And with the injury to Gabriel Jesus and the lack of back-up for the Brazilian – Frank McAvennie has urged Arsenal to sign an out and out striker this month – and has insisted signing a striker is imperative for Arsenal.
“I think if Arsenal get a brilliant out -and-out striker, that is what they need,” he told Football Insider.
“Jesus could play off any decent striker. That would be a match made in heaven. Jesus is a good player. I get that he is not an out and out striker but he is not doing too bad.
“If they got a striker in Arsenal would be scoring more goals, and they are already scoring quite a few without an out and out striker.“
Arsenal have a very good group that we believe can carry them all the way to the Premier League title – they have demonstrated that they do not need to recruit another striker and we believe Mikel Arteta will try to sign a versatile winger instead.
Chelsea are looking to unload Raheem Sterling, and Arsenal are said to be interested in a move.
The England international signed a five-year contract with the option of an additional year last summer and was lauded as a world-class signing for Chelsea, but that will not prevent the club’s leadership from letting him leave.
He has failed to make the effect anticipated of him at the London giants following his move from Manchester City – and he looks nothing like the man that scored 20-goals a season for Pep Guardiola.
And, following the announcement that Chelsea had signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk, recent sources say that Chelsea are willing to let Sterling leave if the appropriate bid comes in.
Arsenal are interested in signing Sterling this month, barely six months after he left Manchester City to join the Blues.
Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Sterling and wanted him at Arsenal last summer, but he couldn’t match Chelsea’s expensive fee and large wage.
Money cannot purchase the success that the Chelsea owners desire, especially given that the majority of the recruits arriving this transfer window are young stars who are not yet completely developed. The arrival of Mudryk will get Chelsea fans excited – especially the ones that have seen him in the Champions League this year – but the club need. to be careful.
We do not believe that Chelsea will let Sterling leave this transfer window – he has played a big part for Graham Potter so far – and the fact he is injured until February means that it will be hard to get him off the books.
