‘Announcement imminent’ – Despite meeting with Real Madrid, Manchester United’s contract negotiations are ‘practically complete
This season, Alejandro Garnacho is one of a growing number of positive developments at Manchester United.
The 18-year-old moved to England in 2020 after participating in Atletico Madrid’s junior system. He was born and raised in the Spanish capital, where he originally played for Getafe.
Garnacho then had the world at his feet, with Manchester United attempting to sign him away from Los Rojiblancos and Argentina attempting to lure him away from representing his natal country.

Both were successful, and in March 2022, the kid was called up by the South American nation. There were even rumors that he nearly missed out on the World Cup-winning squad.
With 21 senior appearances so far this season, it is evident that Garnacho is experiencing a breakthrough. His contract expires in June 2024, with a one-year extension option.
According to the Sunday edition of AS, he is close to signing a contract lasting until 2028. They specify that this is their own knowledge, probably obtained from local Madrid sources, and assert that only picture rights must be negotiated.
The agreement is “practically finalized” according to AS, and both parties intend to finalize it in “a matter of days.” They further state that “the announcement is soon,” making it evident that Garnacho was being courted by many clubs.
Real Madrid was one of them, and the club even met with the player’s representation.
Manchester United have been successful despite this.
Erik ten Hag gives a stern warning to the Manchester United star who appeared dissatisfied with his substitution.
By substituting Alejandro Garnacho against Crystal Palace yesterday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag conveyed a clear message to Alejandro Garnacho.
The brilliant 18-year-old has had a positive impression on Old Trafford whenever he has played this season, proving to be a promising young player on the rise.
Still, yesterday was a difficult day for Garnacho, as he was brought on as a replacement in the 59th minute, only to be taken off again by Ten Hag as he made tactical adjustments in an effort to maintain a slender advantage.
Ten Hag stands behind his decision to substitute Garnacho for defender Harry Maguire, which resulted in a 2-1 victory for Manchester United over Patrick Vieira’s squad.
Ten Hag argues that Garnacho must accept his decision for the welfare of the squad, despite the fact that the Argentine did not appear pleased as he approached the sideline.
“First we had to see how they changed, then you have to anticipate and see how we can close, how to be compact, how we close the gaps, how we get away from our goal but also still have a threat in attack,” Ten Hag said to MUTV, as quoted by the Metro.
“I think we had to change something. It’s not always nice bringing off a player who we brought on but it’s in the interests of the team and the player has to accept that.”
