Alejandro Garnacho Shocks Coaches with Stellar Performance, Raises Anticipation for Clash against Man City
Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United will be looking to get his team’s FA Cup final against Manchester City off to a good start on Saturday.
According to sources, Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho ‘pleasantly surprised’ trainers with his work ethic while recovering. The Argentine was sidelined after injuring his ankle in a March draw with Southampton. With the 18-year-old now completely healthy and firing, he’ll be aiming to get his team’s FA Cup final clash with Manchester City underway on Saturday.
Garnacho was noticeably upset when he left the field after suffering an injury in United’s uninspiring draw with Southampton in March.
However, according to The Athletic, the 18-year-old bounced back to impress coaches and restore full fitness.
According to reports, when Garnacho was pushed out of the match at Old Trafford, it was not guaranteed that he would play again this season.
Garnacho had attempted to stay on, but physicians were concerned that his campaign would end prematurely, which would have been a severe setback.
Physios, on the other hand, were ‘delighted’ with the teenager’s application.
The United star is claimed to have ‘worked as hard as possible to return,’ putting in the effort to ensure he’d be back on the field less than two months later.
Garnacho allegedly traveled into Carrington on his days off, channeling Cristiano Ronaldo – his old teammate whose workaholic attitude is well known – while also undertaking “monotonous hill walks at the back of the training ground.”
The winger also worked hard in the gym, which ‘pleasantly surprised coaches’.
While Argentina wanted him to compete in the Under-20 World Cup, Garnacho seemed to have taken United’s refusal to allow him go very well.
He allegedly ‘knew’ why it was best for him to stay with his club rather than play for his country.
A source praised Garnacho while also defending him for dyeing his hair brilliant blonde before a 2-1 win over Barcelona in February.
“Some people might think dying his hair for a big game at his age is too much,” they are reported as saying.
“But he craves attention, and you need that mindset to thrive at United.”
“He’s not afraid of anything. Other players have signed and shrunk due to the club’s size.”
Garnacho is about to become a father off the pitch, with his partner Eva expecting their first child.
Another insider said the two are head over heels in love and are ready to take the next step in their relationship.
“Alejandro and Eva are childhood sweethearts, and they are totally in love,” a source reportedly claimed.
“Everyone in their family and circle of friends is overjoyed and proud that they are expecting a child.”
“They have been living together for a while in a quiet part of Cheshire, enjoying a calm lifestyle and supporting each other since they arrived in England.
“It’s exciting news that has come early in their lives, but they’ve got great support from both of their families and feel ready for this next step.”
Garnacho will now want to shine when Manchester United face Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
It’s perhaps the biggest derby in history, with Pep Guardiola’s side looking to follow in the footsteps of Manchester United and win the treble.
United have plenty of wingers, especially with Antony ready to return from injury.
However, Garnacho could be the club’s trump card in their quest to capture the championship.
United last won the FA Cup in 2016, defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Wembley thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
