A Look at Manchester United’s Remaining Premier League Fixtures Compared to Liverpool, Newcastle, and Rivals
Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United squad play Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Fulham in their final four Premier League encounters, compared to Liverpool FC, Newcastle, and Arsenal.
Despite uneven results – and another defeat – in the latest Premier League matchday, Manchester United remains in pole position to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Liverpool maintained their late push for the top four with a sixth straight victory over Brentford at Anfield on Saturday, while Tottenham also picked up three points. However, before putting on their boots for the West Ham encounter, United received a positive boost.
High-flying Newcastle were defeated 2-0 at home by Arsenal, allowing Erik ten Hag and his players to jump them into third place. They were unable to do so, however, and were defeated 1-0 by the Hammers after a mistake by David de Gea proved costly, with Said Benrahma settling the scores.
Despite the defeat at the London Stadium, United still needs three victories to secure qualification for the premier European competition, regardless of how other results go. Here is our breakdown of their remaining matchups against Newcastle, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton.
